Back in January we sponsored the Georgia Force, a local travel baseball team, because they have an awesome color scheme, and it’s always good to support the kids. Recently the team asked us to help create a banner for their upcoming World Series in Myrtle Beach. Below is the result which should look pretty awesome when printed on the large scale.
Big thanks to the other sponsors including E.R. Snell Contractor, Northwest Signs and S&R Lighting. These great companies have been a big help getting these boys the funding they need to be able to grow and excel in the sport they love.
Good luck in the tournament Force!
My Own Booth v1.3.1 has been released on iTunes. This was a quick turnaround release to fix a issues causing freezing and crashing during the photo strip processing. Go on and update as soon as you can so you don’t have to deal with my mistakes.
Version 1.3 of My Own Booth is now available on the iTunes. We were able to get this one published just in time for the Bridal Extravaganza Show this weekend. This latest version of the app includes some significant improvements. Most notable is we have implemented web services options that currently includes photo emailing and automatic uploads to a photo gallery. The gallery and email features are hosted on our web servers and are included as a free feature of the booth.
We also added support for the Canon Selphy compact photo printer. This wireless, portable dye sub printer is a great addition to your photo booth experience and its very affordable. After you setup the printer and tell the app its IP Address, My Own Booth will automatically print photos the the Selphy.
Some of the smaller items include a bug fix that caused crashes after many photos were taken and we have added options for timer settings from 1 to 9 seconds countdown. More great things are in store for the upcoming versions and of course the Android version is right around the corner.
My Own Booth v1.2 has been released on iTunes. With this update we have incorporated new layouts for events other than weddings. This includes single photo, three photo and four photo options. Additionally we have added support for custom backgrounds that you can create using your favorite image editor such as Gimp or Photoshop. Go on and update your app or download it if you haven’t yet. As always, let us know what you think.
My Own Booth v1.1 has been released on iTunes. This update fixes some errors and added a discounted 3 Pack of event credits. Additionally the iPad will no longer go to sleep during an event. Finally, we have improved the setup screen and organized options much better than originally. Head on over to iTunes and check it out!
Our newest app that we have been working in collaboration with WOW Photobooth is now available on the iOS app store. My Own Booth has just been approved for release on iOS and is available for download now.
Instead of paying for a professional photo booth for your wedding reception you are now able to use your iPad and network enabled printer to achieve the same experience for your guests at a fraction of the cost. Event editions of the app will be soon to follow that will allow tailoring of the photo strip to additional events including birthday parties, bat mitzvah, business events and even Superbowl Sunday or just a backyard cookout. Many more features are planned and we are definitely open to suggestions. Now jump over to iTunes and check out our work!
As you all know we have been developing for Apple’s iOS for some time now. Up to this point there have been no complaints, and I’ve been impressed with the thoroughness of the testers but there really hasn’t been a “wow” factor for me. The $100 developer fee was pretty much written off a an “Apple Tax” with little benefit. Well, that has now changed somewhat. Last night I got a voice-mail from Apple about our latest App asking me to call back and giving me a direct number. When I called a little later, a guy named Steve picked up the phone nearly immediately and knew exactly who I was when I said my name. He was just calling to talk to me about price limits on consumable items and let me know about some of the unwritten guidelines that they have in place about these. Needless to say, this impressed me that he would take the time to call me about this instead of just an email. So, I write this, as a long standing Apple hater, to say “Well done Apple. You have finally wowed me.”
Now with that said. I need to erase your memory. You saw nothing here!
Blasted Bullet Curtain
As promised last week we are announcing the first of our upcoming products. First out of the gate is our fun collaboration with the Atlanta, GA based company WOW Photobooth. Bill at WOW has gotten tired of dragging around the over-sized photobooth setups from the past and has decided that a 50 pound model would be much more manageable. From this came the idea of creating photobooth software on a tablet which will provide a high quality service to both the professionals and armatures alike.
My Own Photobooth App will be the first professional quality photobooth app that will be published on all three major tablet markets. Yes, that is Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android and of course Microsoft’s Windows 8. The finishing touches are being placed on this guy and the iOS version will lead the way with an early August release and the other two versions close behind. Soon we will be posting some demo videos and more detailed information but for now this small teaser will have to do. More announcements to come soon!
The coders have been hard at work on three exciting apps that are just around the corner. As you all know, the Desktop SMS utility was sidelined for a while however, faith has not been lost. We are soon going to be resurrecting this awesome utility and a fresh new look for the app will be sure to please.
Also, we have a very exciting app that we have been working on with a client that is sure to please everyone at your next wedding, event, or party. Details and screenshots will be coming very soon.
Our final product announcement is actually a spin-off product that was created out of necessity during the development of the app above. Currently code-named “Project Corona” this app will help you print from your Android or iOS phone to any web enabled printers. More to come on this as it evolves into a finished product.
